How to report loan app in Nigeria: the easy ways

While we are thanking God that there is now many loan app in Nigeria which means easy access to credit but another problem has ensue, loan app are now a tore in the flesh. Many are in dilemma today due to the blackmailing of these loan apps.

If you default for just a day they will send defamatory message to your contacts, something like this

Some loan apps are just outright scam they will ask people to pay service fee before they can access loan, after paying they will not send the loan nor the service fee.

Many people have had enough of these loan apps but the problem is that they don’t have money to take these loan apps to court which is no long a problem because there are now ways to report them without spending a dime.

How to report loan app in Nigeria

Virtually all of these loan apps are on play store which is a good thing because play store has a term and condition, if the app do nonsense you can report it, and if many report follow the app will be taking away from play store

To do that, search for the name of the app on play store

Under it locate report button and click it

Report to CBN
Every financial institution in Nigeria is under CBN, they can stop any financial institution from carrying out is activities including loan apps. Before taking them to CBN ensure you have evidence

To report to CBN follow the procedure below

Your complaint should be clear and concise to avoid ambiguity. The Complaint letter (petition) should contain amongst other things the following:

• Name, Address, Contact Phone Number & E-mail of the Complainant;
• Name of your Financial Institution;
• Personal banking details (Do NOT include PIN & Passwords, please;)
• History/Date of the transaction in dispute;
• Amount claimed (if any);
• Attach relevant documents to support you claim and;
• Evidence to show that you have first lodged the complaint at your Letter

You can only direct your Complaints to CPD upon the failure of your Bank/Financial Institution to resolve your complaint within the 2 weeks timeline given by the CBN.

Your letter of Complaint should be addressed to the Director, Consumer Protection Department. You can submit your letter at the CBN Head Office OR at any of the Central Bank of Nigeria branches of nationwide.

How to remove your name from CBN blacklist

For every loan that pass from loan apps or bank to recipient, it is monitor by CBN. If you default your name, BVN and other details will be send to the credit bureau for blacklist which means no bank or loan app can give you loan again in Nigeria.

After paying your debts, most loan apps will not update the list, to solve this problem you have two ways

Contact your loan provider and ask them to update the list. If they refuse tell them you will report them to CBN these will make them take you serious.

Conclusion

Though most loan apps and banks claim they give out loan to people with no collateral. This is not true, your contacts is the collateral, if you default they will send, derogative text to them, claiming that you are fraudsters, this will make your contacts help you pay the money.
